Hello and welcome to Storming the Gates where religion and politics DO mix! This is episode 2 and Volume 1 of the prayer and prophetic journals!
This podcast is about getting prayer strategy for the spiritual battle before us in this nation.
I want to share with you over the coming weeks a variety of prophetic voices I have been following. Join me now as we take a look at part of the prophetic war map set out before us.
I think God is speaking LOUDLY…. even, I would dare say, ROARING to the church right now: “Brace Yourself!” What does that mean? How do we Brace ourselves?
I’ll be talking more about that in a minute. Let’s first look at where and who this word is coming from.
Many of you are probably familiar with Pastor Dana Coverstone’s recent dreams regarding America. The things he dreams are a bit hair curling!! I am going to attach links to his video at the end of the blog post. I encourage you to listen for yourself, but I want to share a bit about it as a reference point for what I will be talking about. Pastor Dana has dreams that show a hand turning the pages of a calendar. I believe this is because God is letting us know it’s a “NOW” word. Not a sit back and wait word. In his dream, Pastor Dana saw a hand flipping through the Calendar until it comes to November. A fist smashes November and the numbers begin to drop. He then saw riots, cities burning, and terrified people hiding in their homes looking furtively out of windows with guns. There were schools closed and he says there was no sense of leadership coming from Washington. There is much more, but I am encapsulating it. I want to focus on what he heard next. A voice said “Brace Yourself.” Three times. “Brace yourself, brace yourself, brace yourself.”
Now, what I found particularly interesting about this is that there is a gal named Liberty , she and her husband pastor a church in Arizona. On the same day Pastor Dana posted his dream which ended up going viral, she also felt an urgency to share via YouTube, a dream God had given her weeks prior that she was still chewing on. She posted it on the exact same date! Which was June 26th of this year. Again, I will also be posting all links at the bottom of my blog post on stormingthegates.net. Both of these are worth your time to listen to.
Liberty said God showed her waves coming in. One wave after another until the waters rose to her neck. Yet she was not afraid.
Liberty said that she asked God what the dream meant and God told her “Brace Yourself. Brace yourself.”
They are by no means the only prophetic voices out there warning of a crazy season ahead! Listen folks, these words came in June when the waves were low, the sun was shining and we all had hope that the pandemic would end and life could go back to normal. Yet here we are. The waves are coming and we need to brace for a storm ahead.
We are in September now. Look around. Those waves are here!
I was just out along Lake Superior today and I saw a rare thing for our cold water lake. Surfers were out snatching those waves and riding them. It was quite a sight! The waves here tend to be erratic and wild. But the thing is, they arrive in the fall! Think Edmund Fitzgerald … “When the gales of November come early.” In September these waves on Lake Superior may still be rideable by brave and wet-suit clad surfers, but come November, those things are cruel, swirling, monsters. Even the most seasoned surfer avoids that dangerous mix of thrashing waves.
As I have listened to these pastors share what God revealed, I found myself wondering: If these words of warning are truly from heaven, why did I, a child of God, not sense or see the same things? We who love and seek God should all wonder this. God is able to confirm such things to each heart that belongs to Him. He raises some to speak to the nation, but will make it clear to individuals as well.
Nonetheless I felt these words were truly from the Lord.
Then, just today I was at a prayer meeting and we were talking about sharing things we journal. I opened my journal to May 22nd. I was actually a bit surprised to realize that God gave me a similar word back then, during the season of Pentecost. While He did not say “Brace yourself,” He did warn of coming tumult.
“A new era has begun,” I wrote, sensing a change. Then God instructed me to write this “This is a turning point. The ball has stopped rolling one way and now goes another. The tables are turned. Warfare will increase, only because Gods people rise in strength.
“”For a season things will seem the same. People will try to make them the same, but soon will know. They are not.” Remember, we were just coming out of pandemic quarantine in May. Most churches and businesses were about to open.
It went on “I call to the whole earth. I stir up the nests. I remove hinderances and reveal sin. I am not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Seek me! Seek my face and live!
“For I shake what can be shaken in order that mankind will seek Me before the days of “relative” peace end.
“They will end. It has been written.”
Kinda foreboding? Eh? But the riots had not yet begun. George Floyd was still alive. The Democrat candidate for President had not been chosen.
And now God is telling us “Brace yourself.”
I know, we want everything to be happy and hunky dory. We should absolutely pray and decree and declare prosperity and peace for our Nation. Yet the voices warning of a tumultuous Fall are growing in sound and in number. I believe Some trouble is coming and cannot be avoided. America has sinned and turned her back on God in many ways. We have put people in power that kill unborn babies and promote evil. Churches have been, for the most part, hum drum and asleep. If God does not cleanse this land we will keep sleeping and die in our sleep like Dorothy in the Poppy fields. He is shaking us to wake us and by doing so He is saving us!
OK, When a storm comes how do you brace yourself?
When the waves start churning in Lake Superior, no human is a match for their power.
First of all: Keep your feet on the ground! The wave is coming so hold on to something immovable. Like a rock. Like, say… Jesus! If you’ve been skipping along doing your own thing, it’s time to stop and tie yourself to the only immoveable thing on this earth.
“Though the Mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, Says the Lord who has compassion on you.” in Isaiah 54:10.
God is not saying “Brace yourself” to be mean! He is saying it to protect you from the waves! He has compassion on you. He loves you.
Next: Rest. Yep. Do not strive or thrash or fight. Do not throw a tantrum when the streets of America are riddled with anger and all manner of sorrows assail us. You are anchored to Jesus. Lay back onto Him. Trust. Here on lake Superior there are some serious undertows that can grab you and pull you out to sea before you even cry for help. If you are tied to a flotation devise the best thing to do to stay alive is to conserve strength and rest. Lay back. Let the water take you.
Know you are safely tied to Jesus.
Put all your hope, faith, and confidence in Him. Do not panic and untie the rope. No matter how high the waters rise. Don’t scream… “No! I need to swim! “ You won’t make it. I have read stories of people on lifeboats at sea who choose to swim to a mirage of safety, or panic and leap off the raft. They are never heard from again.
Hold on! Lift up your head, your salvation draws near! This means you come daily… hourly at times. Even minute by minute to Him when your heart is deeply troubled, and choose to put ALL your trust in Him.
I just read 1 Peter 4 today. Verse one states “Since therefore Christ suffered in his body, arm yourself with the same attitude.”
Jesus understood the suffering He would have to endure to break us free of sin and death. He set His face and allowed Himself to be arrested, and sentenced to a horrible death. He did not flee, and neither will we.
1 Peter 4:7 also states “The end of all things is at hand,” be therefore self controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.”
These days will pass. They will end. So do not fret and gripe and try to escape them. They are here. Be steadfast and immoveable… because you have an anchor in this storm. And as you are well secured, you can grab others and tie them to the anchor as well. People that did not know they even needed an anchor, will now willingly grab ahold of the truth you represent.
Brace yourself!
There is more to say about this short, meaningful, and frighteningly breathtaking phrase. Are there practical ways to “Brace Ourselves?” Are the recent dreams and visions a done deal or is it possible to turn this back at the gate?
